VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE MARINE CORPS
The National Museum of the Marine Corps Volunteer Program seeks dedicated individuals to share Marine Corps history with visitors worldwide through roles such as Docents, Art Gallery Docents, and Hospitality Ambassadors who support tours, exhibit interpretation, and guest services.
VOLUNTEER WITH US
Volunteer Eligibility:
Volunteer opportunities are open to individuals 16 and older who meet role requirements and demonstrate an interest in supporting the Museum, with no consideration of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin. Volunteers must be able to work independently, with other volunteers and alonaside Museum staff.
Application Process:
After applications are submitted, you will be followed up by an interview with the Visitor Services team and with the completion of a comprehensive, mandatory training program designed to prepare volunteers for their roles and familiarize them with Museum exhibits and collections.

Gallery Docents:
Docents answer questions, lead engaging tours, and assist guests in exploring exhibits while providing context about both the Museum and the surrounding area. Help bring the galleries to life with your knowledge and interpretation! Hospitality Ambassadors: serves as the first point of contact for visitors, helping create a welcoming and positive experience from arrival to departure. Ambassadors greet guests, provide directions and wayfinding assistance, thank visitors for attending, collect feedback on their experience, and support a variety of special assignments as needed. |
