Professional Military Education (PME) & Leadership Programs
A trip to the National Museum of the Marine Corps provides visitors with an unparalleled opportunity to
experience United States history through the eyes of a Marine. The Education Department supports the mission of the Museum by developing educational materials and conducting education programs for military units and school houses, JROTC, Recruiting Command, first responders, teachers, corporate groups, scouting groups and more. For military groups, our PME programs focus primarily on small unit leadership, presented using lesser-known Marine Corps heroes. Our topics are not TLO/ELO-driven, and as such, encourage and require Marines and other military personnel to engage their critical thinking skills. Programs also include case studies, in-depth battle studies, overviews of Marine Corps history and culture and more. Our programs are completely customizable to fit the educational needs of your unit/school house. For civilian and youth groups, our Leadership programs focus on connecting United States and Marine Corps history with a focus on stories of leadership. Topics encourage the use of critical thinking skills. All programs can be customized to fit your educational needs. Programs typically last 2 hours. However, they can be shortened or lengthened to meet educational content needs. Most programs take place entirely in our galleries using teaching artifacts and museum exhibits to enhance the learning experience. |
