Chesty's Museum Explorers Presents: Preschool Play Date
Join us every second Tuesday of the month from 10:00 am-11:30 am for Preschool Play Date! Children under 5 years of age are encouraged to engage with stories and activities tailored to their age/grade level. Each play date offers pint-sized fun, introduces early literacy skills, facilitates vocabulary building and encourages social interaction. See our Calendar of Events for more information. |

Explore the Museum with these engaging and interactive hunts. Gallery Hunts use pictures and questions to stimulate learning and prompt discussion about particular items of interest to children ages 4-10.

ALL OF OUR SESSIONS AND WAITING LISTS ARE FULL FOR 2022 SUMMER CAMPS! Summer camps are back at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. The Museum's Education team is hosting five summer camp programs in 2022: Grades 4-6: Marine Corps Tactics Camp June 21-23: 0900-1300 daily June 28-30: 0900-1300 daily Join the National Museum of the Marine Corps’ Education Department for a three-day adventure exploring the history of Marine Corps tactics. In this summer camp program, participants will experience what it was like to be a Marine during the Revolutionary War period, during World War I, and in modern times. This program will feature lessons on the lifestyle of each era, the events of each era, and the military tactics employed by the United States Marine Corps during the corresponding conflicts, through a blend of in-gallery instruction and hands-on activities. Grades 7-9: Marine Corps Tactics and Leadership Camp July 12-14: 0900-1300 daily Join the National Museum of the Marine Corps’ Education Department for a three-day adventure exploring the history of Marine Corps tactics. In this summer camp program, participants will experience what it was like to be a Marine during the Revolutionary War period, during World War I, and in modern times. This program will feature lessons on the lifestyle of each era, the events of each era, and the military tactics employed by the United States Marine Corps during the corresponding conflicts, through a blend of in-gallery instruction and hands-on activities. This camp will also emphasize Marine Corps leadership traits and principles. Grades 4-6: Land, Sea and Air Camp July 19-21: 0900-1300 daily July 26-28: 0900-1300 daily Join the National Museum of the Marine Corps’ Education Department for a three-day camp that focuses on the three environments that Marines operate in: the land, the sea, and the air. During this STEM-focused camp, participants will learn about the vehicles Marines use to pursue their mission, whether they are on land, at sea, or in the air. Camp attendees will also learn about the scientific principles that allow each vehicle to function, and will participate in hands-on activities to strengthen their understanding of these scientific principles. |
