Marine Corps History Day
Triangle, VA - Just as the National Museum of the Marine Corps has some mysteries within its galleries, many people have "mysterious" military relics that may have a link to the Marine Corps. On November 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. those mysteries may be solved at the Museum's Marine Corps History Day.
This history day is an opportunity for visitors to find out more about those old uniforms, medals, photo albums, or other items they've held onto for years that may have a Marine Corps connection. Marine Corps curators, historians and archivists will be on hand to provide historical and preservation information for the items. Visitors will also learn how to use Marine Corps History Division assets, search Muster Rosters and understand the historic documents they may own. Archivist will help visitors identify those treasured documents and show them how to preserve them. NO APPRAISALS OR VALUATIONS WILL BE DONE.
While at the Museum, visit the galleries to learn more about the history of the U.S. and world history through the eyes of the Marines.
The National Museum of the Marine Corps is located at 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway in Triangle, VA. and is open 9:00 am - 5:00 pm daily except Christmas Day. Admission and parking are free. For more information, please call 703 784-6107 or visit the Museum's website at www.usmcmuseum.org.
