Naming Opportunities
A naming gift to the National Museum of the Marine Corps provides a highly visible and lasting tribute to an individual or individuals whose extraordinary support deserve recognition and commemoration. The National Museum of the Marine Corps is offering a number of gallery and public spaces as permanent naming opportunities for donors. With these gifts, a donor can permanently associate his or her name with the Museum or honor the contributions of a Marine, family member, friend, colleague, or community leader. Interested benefactors should contact the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation at info@marineheritage.org or 1-800-397-7585 to determine commemorative options that remain available for gifts.

Commandant’s Circle
Inset into the granite wall surface of the Leatherneck Gallery, this dramatic 9’ x 3’ bronze frieze will depict seminal Marine Corps moments in history. Then names of donors at the 1-4 star level will be etched in a pane of glass covering the frieze. Legacy Walk
For viewers with limited time, the Legacy Walk distills each era of Marine history into its essential moments, with timelines that trace the contributions of the Marines alongside American and world history. Maps of Marine deployments, helicopters and other artifacts, recruiting posters, and media alcoves all contribute to the condensed portrait of each epoch. Boot Camp Experience
In this exhibit, visitors will see the transformation of raw civilian recruits into a team of men and women warriors. Scuttlebutt Theater
Up to 100 visitors will receive their first introduction to the Marine experience in this sloped-floor, flat screen theater with a short film that captures the Marine spirit. Tableau Rails
Several tableau exhibits use settings and artifacts to put a human scale on the Marine experience at home and abroad. Each tableau is surrounded by a small railing, upon which an interpretive text plaque offers another donor recognition opportunity. Media Presentations
Media will play a major role in telling the Marine Corps story. Interactive combat locator maps will help visitors find specific engagements, galleries feature multimedia primers on each era, and object theaters use imagery and audio to recreate key moments in history. |
