Visitor Experience FAQ's

• Download the Museum Map before your visit.
• Don't touch the artifacts or exhibits.
• No food is allowed in the Museum. Visitors may bring unopened, clear water bottles no larger than 20 oz. ​
• Please follow instructions from staff and docents. They are focused on keeping everyone safe.
• Scuttlebutt Theater, the Medal of Honor Theater, Museum Store, Devil Dog Diner and Tun Tavern are open.
• Semper Fidelis Memorial Park and the Children's Playground are open.
• The Museum is open from 9 am – 5 pm daily

DO I NEED A TICKET?

There is no ticket necessary to visit, admission is free and open to the public daily from 9am-5pm

Is there parking at the musuem

We have a dedicated free parking lot for visitors.

wHAT ARE THE MUSEUM HOURS?

The Museum is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day. If any changes to hours need to be made, we will post it on our web site and on all our social media platforms.

are the new galleries open yet?

Our two new galleries, "Forward Deployed" and "Iraq and Afghanistan" were officially opened in October of 2024. These additions highlight the complexity of modern warfare and the evolving role of Marines in combat, peacekeeping, and humanitarian missions.

My group would like to visit, how do I make those reservations? 

All groups of 25 or more people, or those arriving by bus or motor coach, must have a reservation to enter. Please visit our Group Visit Information page and follow the directions to make a reservation.

Do we host CEREMONIES, EVENTS, AND PROGRAMMING?

Events such as family days, ceremonies, and concerts happen often in our Leatherneck Gallery. Check our NEWS & EVENTS tab for more info. 

We will also announce upcoming events and programs on our Calendar of Events page and all our social media platforms. If you would like to get updates from us regarding events and programs, please follow us on our social media.

How do I get a map of the galleries? 

Click HERE to download a map. You may also scan the QR code available at the visitor information desk to download a map to your phone.

WHAT IF I BECOME SICK WHILE VISITING

If you begin to feel unwell during your visit to the Museum, notify one of our employees, volunteers, or security guards immediately. They will assist you and call for an ambulance if needed.

ARE WHEELCHAIRS AVAILABLE FOR VISITORS

Wheelchairs are available and are wiped down after each use. Please see a volunteer at our visitor information desk to request a wheelchair. Visit our Accessibility page for more information.

I CAN'T VISIT THE MUSEUM RIGHT NOW. ARE THERE VIRTUAL WAYS TO VISIT THE MUSEUM?

There are other ways to visit the Museum virtually and take advantage of our educational programming. Our YouTube channel has a great selection of walking tours of the galleries.
