Summer Concert Series Kicks off at National Museum of the Marine Corps
U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps and Silent Drill Platoon Performs July 17
(DUMFRIES, Va.) The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation launches its fifth annual Summer Concert Series at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Va. with a performance by the U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps and Silent Drill Platoon, on Thursday, July 17, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. The famed Silent Drill Platoon is a 24-person rifle platoon that executes a drill exhibition without a word, exemplifying the precision and discipline emblematic of the Marine Corps. The Foundation expects this to be a popular event and encourages fans to arrive early.

All summer concert events are free and open to the public. No tickets are required. Families and friends are invited to bring chairs or blankets to enjoy the live, outdoor entertainment. Outdoor concessions will be available. The Museum will remain open until the start of the concert. The performance will be held outside, rain or shine, or delayed in the event of severe weather.

WHAT:  First concert of the MCHF's Summer Concert Series

WHEN:  Thursday, July 17, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m.

COST:  Free Parking and Admission

WHERE:  The Parade Deck of the National Museum of the Marine Corps

The MCHF will host three additional performances at the Museum as part of the Summer Concert Series.

The additional concerts are scheduled as below:

July 24 - Michael Hoover, renowned Elvis impersonator
August 14 - Commodores Jazz Ensemble
August 28 - Quantico Marine Corps Band
